This latest recipe is one that only takes about 2 minutes to make but is a great way to start the day. Smoothies are becoming an increasingly popular and affordable breakfast that you can take with you on the road, especially if you commute to work on a daily basis. It’s also a great way to ensure you are well on your way to 5 a day and also helps you get important vitamins and nutrients to get your body started for the day ahead. In this smoothie we added some milled flaxseed and goji berries from Linwoods. These are a great source of protein and fibre and another way to provide your body with a great boost to start the day.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 6-8 strawberries
- 1 tbsp honey
- 250 ml milk
- 2 tbsp Linwood’s milled flaxseed and goji berries
Serves 1 person
There isn’t really any steps to making this smoothie; you simply prepare all your ingredients and blend them together. The only real preparation you will have to do is the slice the bananas and strawberries but these can simply be halved, as the blender will do the rest of the work.
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until the ingredients have been mixed together to a smooth consistency. You can use a hand blender like we have, and simply put all your ingredients into a large jug. Just remember, when handling a blender, to always do so with care.
Once your smoothie is blend together, simply pour and enjoy.
Additional serving suggestions:
For those of you who are lactose intolerant, you could use pure orange juice or almond milk as an alternative.
