4 Reasons You Need Adventure In Your Life

Travel Itinerary - Pikalily Blog

For most people, daily life can be somewhat mundane. You wake up, make breakfast, go out to work, come home, and if you’re lucky, you go out and socialise a couple of nights per week.

But while this routine might seem normal, it’s very far removed from the natural human experience. In prehistoric times, a lot of people spent days, wandering the wilderness, scouring for food, water and other resources. Exploration is in our DNA. It’s how our species survived.

Modern life, however, takes that sense of awe and vastness away from us. There’s no such thing as the edge of the world anymore. Aircraft and mobile phones have shrunk the entire planet down to something that you can fit in the palm of your hand or traverse in a day.

Of course, you don’t have to live that way. You can inject nature back into your life. Here’s why doing so is essential.

You Need To Feel Free

One of the reasons companies like Austrack Campers make mobile accommodation is that people want a sense of freedom. They want to experience the thrill of being on the open road, exploring the wilderness, without having to be continually connected with civilisation.

We don’t get to experience true freedom very often in our lives. Most people live in modern cities with strict rules, police, criminals and cameras all over the place, tracking their every move.

Getting out into the wild allows you to escape all of that. It’s restorative and reminds you that there’s more to life than your standard 9 to 5. While we appreciate the need to work and pay the bills, set aside a week or two every year where you can simply go off and feel free with nature again.

You’re Single

Being single isn’t necessarily a negative: it’s an opportunity. It’s a chance for you to go out and do the things that you’d struggle to do if you were with a partner.

Adventure holidays are an excellent way for singles to get solitude and become comfortable in their own skin. It’s a chance to develop as a person and not have to rely on somebody else. And the people you will meet as a solo traveller can really have an impact on your life – opening you up to new horizons and adventures!

You’re Getting Older

If you’re in your forties and fifties, then time for going on a genuine, once-in-a-lifetime adventure might be running out. The clock is ticking.

Some would argue that the best time for adventuring is when you’re at the peak of your physical fitness. You want to do it at a time in your life when you can really enjoy it, not when you’re finding the treks to activities more of a struggle.

Life is for living: strike now while you can.

You Need A Challenge

People are at their best when facing down challenges, not when they’re in a comfortable place.

Facing challenges is what helps you grow as a person and drives you to improve. Without traveling for adventure, you’re forever stuck in the same place, doing the same things. You become accustomed to living life in a certain way, without ever challenging yourself. It leads to stasis.

Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities for adventure out there, it’s just a matter of committing.
